This scene was originally boarded by another artist who did a ton of fun, inventive gags that put our little alien hero in hot water. But then the realities of the production schedule started to impose their will. So I was tasked with trying to achieve the same ideas but keep the character obscured so they didn’t have to make a whole new model without his costume and could avoid tricky interaction with realistic steam water and fire FX.
